Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine in Fujiyoshida

Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine is a historic Shinto shrine in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, serving as the northern gateway to Mount Fuji. Established in 788 CE, it enshrines Konohanasakuya-hime, the goddess of Mount Fuji, and is a key site for those undertaking the Yoshida Trail pilgrimage. The shrine is part of the Mt. Fuji UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, which was recognized in 2013.​
