The Ishikawa Prefectural Library is a modern architectural gem and a cultural hub located in Kodatsuno, Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Opened in July 2022, it offers a vibrant space for reading, learning, and community engagement. Designed by architect Mitsuru Sendata and the Environmental Design Institute, the library’s exterior resembles the pages of an open book, symbolizing the endless possibilities within. Inside, the space features striking ceilings adorned with vermilion and blue hues, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior includes unique spaces such as a circular reading area, “Bookrium”—a digital art installation visualizing book collections as a universe—and the “Ring,” a corridor-style reading space.
