Shiro-Hige’s Cream Puff Factory is a charming Studio Ghibli–inspired bakery nestled in Setagaya, Tokyo, that holds the exclusive license to create Totoro-shaped cream puffs—each lovingly crafted and officially approved by Studio Ghibli’s team. These whimsical treats come in two year-round favorites, custard and chocolate, along with rotating seasonal flavors like caramel banana, strawberry, matcha, mango, peach, chestnut, and more.
The bakery itself is situated on the quiet ground level of a rustic brick house—decorated in a sweet, Ghibli-esque style—while upstairs, the adjacent Tolo Coffee & Bakery café offers a cozy spot for enjoying your cream puff with a drink or light meal.
Because each puff is handcrafted and limited to about 200 pieces a day, they often sell out by early afternoon, so it’s wise to arrive early.
