The number of foreign visitors to Japan in October totaled 3,312,000, up 31.6% from the same month last year and up 32.7% from the same month in 2019, surpassing the previous record of 3,292,602 in July 2024 and setting a new single-month record. The cumulative total through October reached 30,192,600, making it the fastest month on record since statistics began in 1964, surpassing the 30 million.
By market, South Korea gained 732,100 visitors (up 271.1% from 2019), followed by China with 582,800 (down 20.2%), Taiwan with 478,900 (up 15.8%), the U.S. with 278,500 (up 81.6%), and Hong Kong with 198,800 (up 10.1%).
